The bears in this area are almost all black bear. You can tell the black bear from the brown bear by:
1. Big ears
2 . No hump on their back
3. They will try and run away from anything that is perceived as danger.
Don't take this as permission to get too close, that would b a very bad idea. Mama bear will do anything and everything to protect her young and that includes charging you. Believe me, that is really really scary.
